GREEN BUILT™ MICHIGAN

“Green Building” is gaining momentum in residential construction and commercial construction.  Capaldi is excited about this trend in building, and is available to help our clients incorporate “green” into their construction and remodeling projects.

Fred I. Capaldi, President
Capaldi Building Company

Fred began his career after graduating from the University of Detroit in 1965 and joined his father’s business. Fred is passionate about his role in furthering the building profession. He is active with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), serving on the Board of Directors. He has earned “Life Spike” designation, which is awarded to leaders of NAHB who have achieved consistent results in recruiting and retention of members. He frequently represents the industry as a spokesperson on radio and television and as a guest speaker for service organizations.

Recently, Fred was inducted into The Building Industry Association of Southeastern Michigan (BIASM) Hall of Fame, the BIA’s most prestigious award. The Hall of Fame is reserved to honor professionals that have demonstrated exceptional qualities of leadership over the years, and who display exemplary devotion to the building industry and the community. Fred personifies these characteristics.

Recipient of “Builder of the Year” in 1994, and “Remodeler of the Year” in 1997 and 2001, Fred also is a BIA Past President and continues to serve as Chairperson for the Birmingham Task Force and the North Oakland County Builders’ Association. He is recognized as a major supporter of the Remodelor’s Council.

Tim Capaldi, Vice President

Tim attended Lawrence Technological University where he studied architecture and in 1997 joined the company full time. However, Tim’s education did not end there. He became certified as a Graduate Remodeler from the National Association of Home Builders – which demands demonstration of a high level of expertise in remodeling.

Currently, Tim is becoming certified as a licensed builder in Florida, adding to his background in building techniques. Additionally, Tim is the firm’s representative with GREEN BUILT™ MICHIGAN, an organization dedicated to educating the building industry and the general public on methods to build more environmentally sustainable housing.

Tim is a valuable resource to homeowners as they select materials to replicate the style or time period of their homes. He is skilled at researching products throughout the country to help them create desired results.
